Incorporating Usability Into Each Design Project

Usability is an important piece of all website projects that is often overlooked. Along with a design that is easy to understand and navigate, your website should also be built for the search engines. The other important factor in designing for usability standards is to design for people with disabilities. Let's start from the beginning on how we accomplish each of these tasks with our website projects.

Once a visitor comes to your site, whether it is from a direct link or from the search engines, it is our duty to make them feel like they are in the right spot. Once the user has confirmation that you may have the information that they are looking for, through design we will lead them through your site and then lastly motivate the visitor to contact you.

The way your site is put together makes a big difference to the visitors and the search engines. All of our projects are built with CSS and tested in multiple browsers to ensure that your beautiful new site is viewable and accessable from all platforms.

It's important to think of accessability not just from a visitors standpoint but from a disability standpoint as well. It's the little things that make a big difference such as allowing people to tab through form fields instead of click. Creating a hover state and adding a color to your links and using contrasting text and background color to ensure that people with poor vision can see your website correctly. These are just a few things that we incorporate in each of our design and build projects Visit the W3C to learn more about accessability standards.
