Leadership

What's the Story?
Whether you are a father, a manager at a company or a teacher, it is your job to grow more leaders. That is the basic idea of this painting. From my experience as a manager at Schipul I've realized that to grow leaders, there are certain rules that I have to go by.
Number one: put all of my teammates before me. No matter how much you want to be noticed or how well your team does - It's not about you. This is what the top-left symbolizes. The leader is holding up the players while everyone cheers but the one doing the holding shouldn't get the glory.
Number two: if anything bad happens, take the hits, deal with them, and move on. In your role as a leader, you will take hits just like the guy above getting shot by arrows and tied up by the "evil" guys. Your job is to deal with it and teach from it but move on.
Number three: Don't show stress. Everyone is counting on you, and if you show that you're stressed or getting beat up, your group will feel the stress as well. You have to be the rock and stay positive. If so, your team goes off of that and can produce more easily. Again, in the painting the leader is almost hidden from his teammates while he is in a difficult position so they can enjoy their successes.
Basically, this is about being a leader - being there for the people around you and donig what it takes to grow leaders.
