Jazz Band

What's the Story?

Do you ever listen to a live show, and your skin starts to crawl, because something in the music sounds so good? When I hear a live jazz band, that is definitely the feeling that comes across (depending on the players and song, of course).  In order for that to happen, though, all of the players need to be a unified set, and each sound needs to compliment the others. These characters are becoming one as they play, as any good band does. When the melody starts to come out of the trumpet, the walls start to ripple, and the ripple spreads. Those walls are your skin, and you are part of the audience watching this group perform.

One of the best albums I've heard recently is Arturo Sandoval - Live at the Blue Note. If this painting reminds me of anything specific...it is that. There is one song in particular that these guys would be playing called "The Rythm of Our World." Even the 20th time I hear this song...my skin still crawls. Check it out.
