The Butterfly and the Caterpillar

What's the Story?

The Butterfly and the Caterpillar is a painting about age and beauty. I think everyone gets a little bummed out about getting older; especially when seeing younger people flaunt their youth right in front of you. Those kids are the caterpillar. Even though they are young, energetic and full of hope, they still are dependant on the people around them...Mainly the parents.

This caterpillar still clings to the leaf because he can't go out on his own unlike the butterfly. The butterfly is just the opposite in that it is even more beautiful (probably because of its maturity) and doesn't have to rely on anyone. This painting is the fight between the two. When you're young, you want to be old and when you're old, you want to be young again but this picture is in favor of the adult. Even though you're older and things fall apart on you a lot easier, you're maturity makes you much more beautiful - Even if I'm wrong, I don't mind thinking that.
